Hiring Audiovisual Account Representative in Dallas
Contacts prospective customers to sell audio and video products and installed systems. Target customers/markets will include corporate, government and higher ed institutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of products and integrated services from prospects and clients.
• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
• Meets regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
• Records customer’s instructions and plans preliminary integrated AV systems commensurate with customer’s objectives and budget limitations.
• Quotes price and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company delivery schedules.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems; assist with collection efforts
• Attends trade shows; vendor demonstration events.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five to seven year related experience and/or training (see below); or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the audiovisual industry either in a sales role, sales support role or a system designer role. Knowledge of integrated audiovisual systems, there performance and design structures is a definite plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office applications.
